Who am I?

I'm Dr. Ravinder Pal Singh

I am young (35 Yrs. old), motivated and hardworking researcher/teacher. I have completed my education from the reputed institutes of India. I am working as an Assistant Professor in CAD/CAM discipline under Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, at National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing technology- Ranchi (Formerly NIFFT- Ranchi).

Teaching Experience

I have a Teaching experience of more than 12 years, including 3 years Teaching Assistant at IIT Delhi. In my past years I have taken several undergraduate and post graduate courses including CAD/CAM, Additive manufacturing, Automation in Manufacturing, CIM, Industrial robotics, Advanced Manufacturing. I view teaching as an opportunity to pass on knowledge to the next generation and review my fundamentals; thus, I found it very exciting. I am also very interested in providing practical knowledge to the students.

Research Experience

I have completed my Doctoral research from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2020. During my Doctoral research, I developed a novel bone drilling machine, working on the principle of rotary ultrasonic machining and orthopedic drilling which can eliminate mechanical and thermal damages (like thermal osteonecrosis, microcracks and hole inaccuracy) to bone surface during drilling (a patent for the same has been granted,Patent number: 469608, 2023). I have a high number of publications (25+) published in last five years in peer-reviewed journals of high repute including SCI, Scopus, PubMed, and other peer reviewed journals.
